Newport University is a private university located in Newport Beach, California. It was founded in 1976 and is approved by the State of California Bureau of Private Postsecondary and Vocational Education. The university comprises the schools of Business Administration, Behavioral Sciences and Law.
In October 2006, two students took the California First Year Law Students Examination (the "Baby Bar") for the first time. One passed. Newport University is an approved school by the California Bureau for Private Postsecondary Education. Newport University, however, is not accredited by any higher education accreditation organization recognized by the United States Department of Education or the Council for Higher Education Accreditation. Your website says that Newport University has only local accreditation but is not accredited by any higher source. Why are not and are you seeking to be acredited? You have been around some years.
