Kingston Law School

Quote:
The Law School has been an established and growing centre of law teaching for 40 years. Matthew Humphreys is the Head of School.

The wide range of law degrees gives an excellent start for a career in law and in many other legal aspects of business as well as many other careers in a friendly, productive and supportive law school. Nearly 1000 students are studying for the degrees of bachelor of law (LLB), bachelor of arts (law), master of law (LLM) and together with the postgraduate diploma in law and the research degree of doctor of philosophy (Ph.D). There is also available a wide selection of degrees where law can be taken as part of a degree with another subject, such as business or marketing.

Our degrees are available in a flexible, modular structure which allows a choice of specialist areas of study. These can include opportunities for students to develop their skills in mooting, client interviewing, and negotiating. Students have participated with great success up to the finals in national and international competitions in these areas which has greatly enhanced their future careers.

The law school has many established connections with the professions and a thriving alumni association. We have close links with many local and national firms who sponsor various activities. Several members of the judiciary together with leading legal practitioners act as visiting professors, fellows and visitors to the school enabling students to integrate into the wider legal community. The full time staff include many legal scholars whose research and publications place them in the forefront of legal learning and whose legal teaching has led to an award of National Teaching Fellow.

The school is set in the beautiful Kingston Hill campus, with Richmond Park and Wimbledon Common just moments away with the main town at Kingston just a short bus rideaway and London (Waterloo) in under half an hour away. It is difficult to imagine a more idyllic place to study and many students from the past have had a very happy time here. We hope you will choose to join them.
