Re: Ex husband used my credit card without any permission to do so

You can report it to the police but I doubt it will ever go further than the report. Though you might need the report to get the charge reversed by your credit card company.

Re: Lawsuit for the wrongful death of my dog

Of course.

No. But, in NY, you might get a bit more than just the market value of the dog.

In a 1979 case in NYC the court overruled prior precedent and ruled "that a pet is not just...

Wait.

No way to predict one way or the other.

But I have two suggestions.

Re: How can I stop a person from shooting into my property?

Re: Contempt issue and accusations of a threatening manner

It asks the court to punish you for something you did or didn't do.

I don't know. What does the contempt citation say you did?

Do you have the papers in front of you so you can...

Re: Court appearance by video link/telephone

That's up to the court.

You'll have to ask the court clerk if the court has the equipment or is allowed by the rules.

Or ask your lawyer.

Re: Do i lose Confidentiality

Two people can keep a secret if one of them is dead.

Telling anybody your secret (no matter how few or how many) is the same as shouting it from the rooftops no matter what you tell them about...

Re: Keyed a car and am awaiting trial

If you are going to trial I suggest you don't pay anybody anything and don't talk to anybody but your lawyer about it.

Since you admit keying the car I suggest you have your lawyer seek a plea...

Re: Two state courts have jurisdiction over the type and amount of issue

It matters where you are because rules of court differ from state to state and court to court.

Generally, however, you should be able to file in either court. Make sure you check your local...

Yes.

If you fail to pay and fail to appear, a judge can issue a bench warrant for your arrest.

Re: Wet floor sign and liability

The wet floor signs are 2 feet tall, yellow and hard to miss. They are even written in Spanish for you people who don't speak English.

And if you end up like this guy, ass over teakettle, right...

Re: At what age can a child decide where to live?

18.

That's when a child becomes an adult and can live wherever he/she wants.

Until then, he/she stays put and does what he/she is told.

Re: Wrongfully terminated from my job

Sure, you can file a lawsuit in small claims court where the company HQ is located. Eventually you will have to come to court to testify so that's probably not a feasible option unless you are owed...

"I was told" is the most dangerous phrase in the English language.

Re: Mother abandoned son with me and has never returned.
