I FEEL LIKE I HAVE BEEN CHEATED.
Sorry to hear about this experience. Have you tried contacting another personal injury attorney?

Contacting another lawyer will only make it worse. OP already has one active contract and a second lawyer is only going to seek more of the pie, or is unlikely to take a very small cut of the first lawyers fee as law permits. I suggest you run the numbers and see if the offer covers all medical, any subjugation and legal fees. If it does, you are lucky.

Auto accidents are a common case in our society.
Check your policy closely otherwise you may face a big problem.

I finally did get a new attorney to take over.
Hopefully all will proceed now.
Crossing my fingers!

I agree, I am surprised another attorney would jump in like that.

But best of luck and let us know what happens!!

If I get from behind in the USA does that automatically mean the other driver is at fault?

He should not have been following so closely it seems to me.
He would have had time to stop if he was driving properly.

Start your own thread and include relevant information such as state where it occurred, road conditions, etc. Only then could someone hazard a guess.

The law provides that the person in the back must keep a distance to stop from hitting the car in the front, 95 times out of 100 the car in the back is at fault

And this is true in the United States, the United Kingdom and Australia.
