Default How can I help him from being wrongfully charged with DV?

Nevada

My boyfriend was arrested for domestic violence on me? I ended up being taken by ambulance to the ER with multiple wounds. The police took pictures and my statement which resulted in him being charged with everything. However they weren't actually caused by him. He did drag me out the door but that was it. I suffer from a preexisting seizure disorder caused by an ex who choked me unconscious resulting in my seizure disorder many yrs ago. That night I went into multiple seizures which is the true cause of my wounds and ER visit. When giving my statement to the police i was in a state of severe confusion & flashing back to what my ex did and blamed it on him, which is very common for me to do when coming out of seizures. It wasn't until the next morning when I was coming out of it when I realized what I had done but it was to late. So how can I help him from being wrongfully charged for what someone else did to me yrs ago? Please help. Thank you.

He wasn't wrongfully charged.

He committed an act of violence against you.

You're the typical battered female who wants to forgive her abuser.

You're better off without him.

Meantime get some counseling.

If that is really the case and you are not just covering for him, then you could hire an attorney or others to help you put together the facts in a logical and convincing way.

The problem is that the police saw abuse and now you have to overcome all that has happened and it will not be easy, especially when so many abused persons deny the abuse right after it happens. The authorities are wary of such claims like you are making.

Your boyfriend’s activity constitute a domestic violence and the police has recorded your statement regarding the violence. So if you want to rectify your statements police requires valid reason to believe.

So your ex choked you and your current beau dragged you out a door. You can certainly pick the cream of the crop.

You need counseling and need to get out of the relationship you're in ASAP.

It is really sad to hear that and would suggest you to go and rectify your statement as soon as possible.

I think BOTH of the persons involved in this situation need to get professional help.
That's my opinion.
