What is the motive of this job scam?

Hi,

Thank you for your interest.

We received your resume for our new job vacancies. Your resume was reviewed and I am so impressed. But unfortunately, the Administrative Position you applied for has been occupied, so I am offering you another position to work as my Personal Assistant.

My name is Gary Wallace, 46 years of age. I'm a civil engineer, a human capital investor and philanthropist maintaining established business relationship with diverse companies within and across the Globe. My recent engagement and subsequent business expansion necessitates the role of a Personal Assistant who will help leverage my work load in order to ensure timely delivery of services and attendance to matters of concern and as such eschew excess backlogs and unattended briefs.

The sensitivity of this position warrants the office holder to be upright, responsive, accountable, trustworthy, emphatic, persevering, honest and willingly ready to go an extra mile.

Basic wage is $950.00 per week

I tend to have a very busy schedule at moment, please note that this position is not office based for now due to my frequent travels at the moment. It's a part-time work from Home for now. I'm currently away for some property survey in Europe. I'll be back to the states in three weeks’ time. So, I need an assistant to handle dealings for me on the home front when away on business which is habitually quite often. I need someone who can be able to reply to Emails in a prompt manner.

This is just an explanatory message, as time goes on we should be able to arrange a proper meeting upon my arrival. I do have a number of things you could help me with this week if you will be within reach for me. If you're interested in the offer, this could act as a good start to our working consanguinity.

DO CONFIRM ACCEPTANCE OF THIS POSITION BY PROVIDING THE BELOW DETAILS.
DECLINE THE OFFER BY NOT REPLYING, OR SAYING NO.
PLEASE COMPLETE THE APPLICATION FORM REQUIREMENT BELOW

Most probably they will ask for your banking details. This seems to be a scam and it is better to ignore the job offer to avoid future intricacy.

Exclamation Re: Job offer came with large cheque

I just received my check for over $4,600!! This guy named, ALEX RISE posted an INDEED job posting as an artist who travels around the USA, CANADA and IRELAND looking for an office assistant and then emailed me saying he saw my resume and that his PA went on emergency maternity leave and that he needed to replace her position instead......

I received all of the same questions previous people received about your address, payment preference, AND he asked for my bank info (which I did not give to see if thats what he was looking for)

The days to follow he emailed me saying congratulations, I got the job and my check was in the mail. I received a package tracking number from ALEX RISE........ when my package arrived it was mailed from an ANN KENNEDY in CA. The check itself was from COPPER CANYON FARMS in UTAH and was signed by a CHARLES H. MADSE.

I did finally receive a phone number in one of my final emails from "Alex" but when I called it had gone to voicemail and instead of a normal voice message it was a machine from GOOGLE saying it was an app or program or something and that the caller was unavailable. Seconds later I got a call back and answered, it was a very old man on the other end. I told him that I had texted the number as well the night before and never received a response about where to find his artwork or information online. He told me to cash my check and send him a PHOTO of the receipt so he could "make sure the funds get deposited correctly". (Why else would he need a photo other than to steal my information).

After our phone call I got a text back from him of a web address jasonkearneycuts.com This web address did not exist when I told him that he acted confused and sent me the web address Jasonkearneycuts.tumblr.com which is an artist who is very young, maybe mid 30's or 40's compared to the man I spoke with on the phone.

NONE OF THE INFORMATION LINES UP!!!!
