Default Flat or house??

Hi all.. I am thinking to buy one of the flats in Cochin. This is the first time I am looking for an apartment. But some of my friends suggesting to buy a house. I am too much concerned about this. Which one would be better? Please share opinions from your experiences.

Default Re: Flat or house??

That's not a legal issue, it's one of personal preference.

My personal preference is a house. It's my house. I don't share walls with anybody. There nobody upstairs making noise or having plumbing accidents that damage my place. There's nobody downstairs complaining about me making noise or having plumbing leaks that damage their place.

There's no management company or association board telling me that I have to obey rules and regulations.

As long as I don't disturb my neighbors or do anything criminal, nobody cares what I do on my own property.

I've never seen any advantage to buying a condo or co-op. Sure, you get some security and a lot of the maintenance is taken care of but you have to CONFORM.

In America (land of the free, home of the brave) he who gives up freedom for security deserves neither.
