A very good friend of mine has undergone a surgery at a hospital and never woke up. He has a severe brain injury. How could this happen? He was only thirty. The management of hospital says that it was just a tragic accident but I am wondering whether it could be medical malpractice.

Re: Is it a Medical Malpractice?
I wish to inform you that you may contact a medical expert to determine if there was medical malpractice. A medical malpractice case may not proceed without an expert opinion. In addition, you may consult a medical malpractice law firm for guidance. Some such law firms also work on pro bono basis.

All surgeries have some risk unfortunately but you really cannot take the word of the hospital as gospel.
And independent evaluation is needed.- Quote

In this regard an attorney who is an expert in medical malpractice case can handle the case if you want to file a case against the hospital. You are required to collect all the treatment history from the hospital for the purpose of filing the case.- Quote

You should be wary of people like Bill Voss, who must resort to getting clients by spamming message boards.Due to a recent promotion, I should now be referred to as Major Obvious.
I would not be trying to provide information and knowledge if I did not sympathize.
Some days it is just not worth chewing through the restraints to face life.- Quote

Re: Is it a Medical Malpractice?
Medication mistakes are responsible for an estimated 7,000 deaths annually. Although this figure is a mere fraction of the number of Americans who take prescription drugs, it’s still alarming given that these errors often have devastating consequences.
Fortunately, there are steps patients can take to reduce their risk. Let’s explore some of the more common medication mistakes and how to avoid them:
Prescription Mistakes
The FDA has approved more than 1,000 drugs, so it’s not all that surprising that physicians mix them up from time to time. It doesn’t help that some very different medications have very similar sounding names.
For example, sertaline is an antidepressant, while cetirizine is a seasonal allergy drug. Likewise, Reminyl is used to treat dementia, while Robinul treats stomach ulcers.
Unfortunately, confusing one drug for another is not the only kind of error that physicians make. Sometimes they prescribe the correct drug but fail to review the other medications the patient is taking. When this happens, a dangerous interaction could occur.
The most effective way to protect yourself from prescription mistakes is by researching every drug the doctor prescribes before actually taking it. If there appears to be any discrepancies, call your physician to discuss your concerns.
Filling Mistakes
If you go to a pharmacy to fill a prescription, there are several ways you could end up leaving with the wrong medication. For example, the pharmacist might:
Misinterpret the prescription;
Grab the wrong medication;
Look at someone else’s prescription when filling yours; or
Give you someone else’s prescription.
Although every pharmacy has procedures in place to prevent such errors, they still can—and do—occur. To avoid falling victim to a pharmacy mistake, read the label on your medication closely, and then look up a photo of the drug to make sure you received the correct pills.
Administering Mistakes
If you receive medication while at a healthcare facility, the nurse who is attending to you could make a mistake while administering it. He or she might give you the wrong dosage, for example, or use the wrong administration route.
Unfortunately, it can be hard to prevent this kind of error. As long as you’re not incapacitated, though, you can ask your nurses to explain everything they’re doing before they actually do it.

Certain medical procedures require patients to sign an acknowledgment form. This form basically states that you understand the risks involved and still choose to move forward with the procedure. But what if a medical error occurs? What if the doctor was negligent?
Medical negligence occurs when a doctor fails to provide the right treatment and because of it you experience an injury. Or in the worst scenarios, a patient dies because of it. If you signed a waiver before a medical procedure, you’re probably wondering whether or not you can file a medical malpractice claim.
If you are a victim of medical malpractice, we want to help you. Are you or somebody you know suffering from CPM due to the physician’s negligence? If yes, Hampton & King, a well-known CPM claim law firm, is there to help you. Our Central Pontine Myelinolysis attorneys understand the medical issues involved in CPM and will help you file a lawsuit.- Quote
