Default Which agency regulates hair dryer defects?

What federal gov. agency is in charge of serious defects in a hair dryer that is sold in several supermarkets?
I want to file a complaint ASAP?

I wish to inform you that you may report matter to Federal Trade Commission. Generally matter involving consumer rights can be dealt by FTC.

Yes, you can file a complaint with the FTC but it won't do you any good.

Were you injured by the defective hair dryer? How and to what extent?

The cord partially pulled off-- easily-- and I was slightly shocked by the electricity.

Make a warranty claim if it's still under warranty.

If it's too old to be under warranty you can throw it away or fix it with electrician's tape.

As for being slightly shocked by the electricity, you're obviously still alive with no appreciable injury so there is no money in it for you. You could, however, write to the corporate HQ and tell them about it and maybe you'll get a coupon toward your next purchase.

The Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSF) is the federal agency to take care of these complaints. You can file online complaint to CPSF in their website.

Can they at CPSC help you get a refund as well if the seller is giving a hard time?
