Default Feds Take Alabama Immigration Fight to the Next Level

We're not sure we needed more proof that the Obama administration really really doesn't like Alabama's strict new immigration law, but today we got a little more.



The administration on Friday asked the 11th Circuit Court of Appeals in Atlanta to halt the law pending its appeal. The administration is arguing that the law is already causing harm — in the form of driving immigrants out of the state. A federal judge in Alabama earlier refused to stay the law, claiming the government had not met its burden of showing that the public interest would be harmed.
