    Appeal of traffic court

    Massachusetts

Can I appeal a traffic court decision if I failed to show at the case?
I was 2 hrs late because the trains were late and also I went to the wrong building? Do I have any options now?

If you are about to contest the citation you can file a motion with the Court explaining the genuine reason for your failure to appear and the court may consider your motion. If you are about to admit the citation, you are only required to pay the citation in full.

I wish to inform you that you may file a motion to set aside the Order for good cause shown. You may collect evidence from the rail authorities about the late running of trains and provide it to the Court. The Court will consider all the facts and decide the matter. If the decision in the motion is against you then you may file an appeal in the matter.

If you can show that the train was late, due to no fault of yourself, the court will reschedule the date.

          That's hardly a given.

A motion must be filed with the court explaining why you missed your hearing.
File as soon as possible after missing your date. Note that this does NOT guarantee an appeal.

I just lost my case in New York City.
Is there any real appeal option? Or is best just to forget it.

I am 100% sure I was not doing the speed ticketed but the judge just didn't believe my version. He wouldn't really even listen to me.

              Read the posts above.
You can often appeal but the odds are not great.

                Which applies to MASSACHUSETTS.

The OP hijacked this thread and decided to ask his NYC question here.

If the OP wants real information about an appeal in the New York Traffic Violations Bureau he should START HIS OWN THREAD. I will not answer his questions or provide information about his question in this thread.
