In this case I meant direct as in: from me to them.

it sounds like the judge does not want them to be paid. At all.

Clearly. Could that just be a matter of not having registered beforehand with the SSA, though? I didn't even know that had to be done. Still, they got a copy of everything that was sent to me, so SSA knew they existed, right?

Sorry...an awful lot like a Binder employee:

As with any legal contract, read over the terms from front to back and then do it again. If you signed for them to somehow charge you, then they will. The judge can only make a ruling about what comes out of your SS money. Most likely, you signed something that you didn't fully grasp what it meant. I don't say that to be mean or rude, but just stating the most likely scenario.

If the judge said not to pay them, that would override the contract in most instances.

He may not have said simply don't use ss funds, he may have said do not pay them.
Let Binder argue with the judge what that meant.

Thank you. Maybe I should ignore their letters to me. SSA did tell me they filed a petition recently. (Meaning not an appeal within the stated 14-day period.)

                  Hi All:
What is the actual final status here of Binder and Binder? I cannot get them to answer me and I do not know the status of my matter? Any updates or info?

Can I sue them in small claims court if they filed for bankruptcy already?
Or is that option closed to me now?

Normally if the firm is in bankruptcy you must submit your claims through the bankruptcy process, and if you do not, you are prevented from acting on the claim. So locate the bankruptcy proceeding and contact the Trustee handling the bankruptcy.

Their BK has been going on a while. I would think you are close to being out of luck if you are not getting relief through the BK.

As one poster noted you MUST contact the bankruptcy court to pursue your claim.
And don't just sit around waiting or you will lose your rights to make any claim--if it's not already too late.

They are fully out of business now right?
That's what it seems but there are still a bunch of web pages that make you think they might still be around.

I still had a few hundred dollars they were supposed to be holding from 4 or 5 yrs ago.
