Default Health care law penalties

I bought health insurance for a 6 month period and not through the exchanges.
The policy expires in November.
So I have only been insured 6 months of this year.

Does that mean I still have to pay the penalty? What is the actual health care law now?

I wish to inform you that you may be liable for penalty for 6 months. As you were not insured for 6 months thus you may be liable for penalty for 6 months. During rest of the year you may be able to save from penalty if your insurance policy is covered under requirements of The Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act. If your policy is not covered then you will be liable for complete year penalty.

In this case you are only covered for six months, so you have to penalty for the uninsured period.

The Republicans have failed to repeal the Affordable Care Act at this point so the rules still all apply.

Hi: I have to decide this issue this week.

I believe Trump issued an executive Order cancelling uninsured tax penalties. you need to research this.

It will not be a question on this year's returns.

I also find this issue confusing.
It seems the politicians are saying different things among themselves.

Going going gone....

It's all being dismantled as we speak.
