Default Employer paying me as if I had a non-terminal degree

Maryland

Recently I discovered that UMUC has been paying me as if I had a non-terminal degree when I have a 4-year graduate terminal degree since 1992. Do I have a valid case if UMUC rejects my retroactive pay request?

I wish to inform you that in Maryland, the usual Statute of Limitations for filing suit for breach of contract is 3 years, though there are some exceptions. The statute of limitations begins to run from the period you learnt about the breach of contract. Since there has been a breach of contract from 1992, the burden to prove the breach of contract and for tolling the retroactive period will be on you. You may contact an attorney and seek guidance in the matter.

And just how do you know he has a contract?

Is there some agreement that is supposed to govern your pay?
If not you may be out of luck. And if there is such an an agreement, why did you not realize the error ASAP? BTW it's not 100% clear from your post how long you have actually been working...

Also the definition of what constitutes a terminal degree can vary just FYI.

In this regard you can file a case with convincing reason for delay in filing the case. Further your case should be supported by all the documentary proof regarding your employment.

Well, THAT certainly makes no sense.

You can't make any statements like this since the OP has provided ZERO details.

without a contract or union obligation, they don't likely have to pay you anything.

...is there some agreement obligation that REQUIRES the higher salary? I would say you are out of luck otherwise.
