Yes there is nothing preventing that,
But it is also true that at any time the father could change his mind and seek a court determination that he is the father and reenter into your lives.
Of course he may have child support obligations if and when he does that.

Can my girlfriend pay me 3000 dollars to have me sign off on my rights to my child - forever?
That's what she proposes but it seems questionable to me, is that legal?

No she can’t. Nor can you. Only a judge can terminate your rights and unless there’s a stable father in the picture wanting to adopt, it’s not going to happen.

Can I pay my ex 5000 dollars to give up his rights to our child, and agree to never contact us again?

Is that binding? Would that violate any law?
