Default Just served a summons and not sure what to do

I just started bankruptcy. But I haven't been able to save up the $350 for filing fee because I'm currently not working until end of august. I live in Minnesota. I was just served a summons tonight. My attorney isn't in the office until next Friday aug 4. I can't wait that long. I'm genuinely scared now. What can I do? What should I do? I'm scared to the point I'm crying

Nothing to be scared of.

Start by answering the following questions:

What does the summons instruct you to do?

Does it tell you to file an answer? If so, in how many days?

Or does it tell you to be in court on a particular date? If so, what is the date?

How much are you being sued for?

What was the date you defaulted on the debt? Should tell you in the complaint.

What court level? Small claims or regular civil? What city?

Is the plaintiff the original creditor or a collection agency?

You should have at least 10 (usually 20) to 30 days before you have to file a standard answer.
So your lawyer will be back by then,
There is nothing urgent right now.

In this regard it is better to wait for your lawyer to file an answer, you will not be out of time till August 4.

You ALWAYS have 10 to 20 days to figure out the situation. Nothing is immediate.
People always panic when they get these kinds of court documents but no need.
It all takes time.

Make sure to answer.
I waited 30 days thinking that that was ok and got a default that the judge will not remove!
