Default Taking commission is a crime?

Hello i want to ask you is it wrong to take commission from vendors in purchase department? Is it comes under criminal offenc? And wht is the punishment for same?

I wish to inform you that taking commission without informing your employer may violate criminal law. In government service taking commission may amount to corruption. In case of private service it may violate criminal law because it may violate laws regarding fraud, breach of trust and cheating.
