You can also file a complaint with the state attorney general. And if the Attorney General receives a few complaints, they will normally act, and investigate and pursue the issue.

They are crooks and their rental agents must receive commissions for peddling that useless and redundant extra coverage. The crap of signing the blank electronic tablet instead of having a printed paper to sign makes it easy for these scumballs to slip this garbage in. You should file a complaint with the local city or district attorney and dispute the extra charges with your credit card issuer.

Yeah you really have to watch them carefully. I also was taken by them in a similar situation. At MIA airport location.

Yes they do receive commissions and bonuses for that extra service stuff they tack on.

Some the add on fees are very tricky and you don't see it when they are rushing you through the airport checkout.

For example I had a reservation change fee but there was not supposed to be any fee.
They only removed it three weeks later after 4 inquiries from me.

Please don't necropost. The last update to this EIGHT year old thread was 5 months ago. Your comments now are pretty meaningless.

Also watch the small gas fees they sometimes add on when the tank is actually full.
I would suggest to always check the bill at checkout and don't assume they are doing it right.
Even if you are rushed to a flight it's worth the few minutes of time.

Ahh and another one...a fee for extending the rental without calling in, even when the original contract has the "extra day fee charge" described and allowed.

And they don't even tell you they are adding the fee, they just do it at checkout.
That should be prohibited.
