Default Very urgent.. maternity benifit act - revised implementation

I delivered baby on Dec'16. My maternity leave was from Dec '16 - feb'17. SPL maternity leave was from feb'17 - mar '17. After that I used CL, EL, SL and currently on LOP (child care) I got to know maternity benifit act has been revised and maternity leave is extended to 24 weeks. I talked to HR abt implementation of the new benifit for me. They told my maternity leave that I applied ended by mar'17 and the act was implemented Apr'17. Am I eligible to claim the new benifit since I'm still on leave (Loss of pay for child care) and not joined office yet

I wish to inform you that if your maternity leave has ended then you may not avail benefits of new law. At present your status is on child care but not maternity leave. As new law is prospective thus your past maternity leave may not be extended.

The recent amendment to maternity benefit act does not have retrospective effect. Hence in the present scenario you are not eligible to have the benefit of the recent amendment.
