Default Landlord won't give me a lien release.

Oklahoma

What do I do? Landlord won't give me a lien release. Bought a double wide home from an individual who financed it for me I made a large down payment then made monthly payments on the rest of the amount. Now she says I owe more and she has mailed me a new promissory note and a new security agreement.

Do you have a WRITTEN purchase/loan agreement?

Do you have documentation of all your payments (cancelled checks, bank records, receipts)?

You shouldn't be signing anything.

I suggest you consult an attorney.

Until you do, she probably has all the leverage holding your lien release hostage.

You can sue her in small claims or in regular court court for any damages of costs that you do not agree with!

Has she offered any reasonable explanation for the extra charges she claims?
What really is the actual dispute amount?

Her demand for more charges depends on the terms of the written agreement regarding the lien. You are only bound to follow the terms of the lien agreement. If you are facing out of agreement demands, you can file complaint with law enforcement.

It is a civil matter and will be decided on the basis of the written contract and your proofs' of payment.
