How the California Employment Law Makes California the Best Place to Work?

There are a number of reasons why people move to California; the weather, the views available as well as the convenience of proximity to great relaxation locations. These, however, are not the only reasons why people are choosing to live here. The California employment law has made the state one of the best places to be employed in. Here is why.

    Fair employment and housing act
The California employment law has an act that protects employees from discrimination based on race, religion, color, disability, gender, sex, age and even marital status. This then means that one caught mistreating or even sacking an employee for such reasons is acting against the law and can, therefore, be held to book. Please note that sex includes being fired for pregnancy, childbirth, even breastfeeding and any related medical conditions.

    Leave rights
Whereas some states do not recognize some leave rights as legal or even considerable, the California employment laws ensure that employees get covered for a number of leaves. For instance, the employee not only gets sick leave for themselves but “kin care leave” where one gets protected leave to take care of a family member or loved one when they are unwell. The protected leaves go as far as to cover organ donors leave, protected leave to deal with such cases as sexual assault or domestic violence, jury duty leave among other scopes. The California employee is clearly well protected.

Everything mentioned is Federal. There are some positives unique (or nearly) to California but those aren’t it.

I wouldn't live in CA if you paid me.
