If he declines to give it, you can try a subpoena.

Exclamation Re: Hacking another person's Facebook account -- Is it illegal?

Yes. It is very illegal, it is considered Cyber bullying..
Why is it considered Cyber bullying you may ask?

~People get into people's facebook and post dirty things like "I'm a dirty little hoe." or "I sleep around, $5 only!"

~Again people get into the accounts and bully people from THEY'RE OWN pages. it's a ****ed up way to deal with ****!!!!

You will get into some trouble if you are caught or turned in. If you are turning someone in... Note: You WILL need PROVE (recording etc.) of the person doing it, otherwise it is not official and is not going to go through!

Trouble you can get into if you hack ANYTHING OF ANOTHER PERSONS:

You have a risk of getting charged to $100 or more. (Where I live that's the charge, could be more where you live!)

You run the risk of having a misdemeanor.

If you are hacking someone's facebook. Always know, it is wrong. & you will get into trouble while doing it. > SO DONT DO IT.

Thank you. :*

Do you have any actual damages from the hack, other than the invasion of privacy?
Invasion of privacy is actual damage. What happened to us?

What If someone changes another Facebook User's password solely to inconvenience the person and not for any further intent, is that considered illegal?

There are both state and federal laws to cover such computer invasion. In what state do you live?

Then you only need to change the log in, email address facebook links to and the password to be rid of them. No one is going to waste their time chasing a facebook password changer. The law has more important things to do like drink coffee, eat donuts and arrest real criminals.
