Re: Laws on bait traps for cats

It's illegal in New York City to trap without a license. Then once the animal is trapped, it must be removed and dealt with in the proper manner - ALSO according to New York law.

I have one in our back area and that animal has to go, the neighbors refuse to keep her locked up. The city refuses to do anything. I am at my wits end.
No it is not legal.
...have the Humane Society or Animal Control help you handle the problem.

Rabbits are NOT a protected animal to my knowledge and I have lived here in Houston 14 years. But city rules may prohibit wild animal trapping inside city limits--and rabbits might be included. So say some posters in this forum.

Check with city hall as well or the Humane Society.

Is it legal to set rabbit traps that actually kill the rabbit, inside the city limits of Houston TX?

I don't know what Indiana law provides at this point BUT I'm my opinion you should never be using such traps for domestic cats. It is cruel and unnecessary.

If you have an animal control issue call your local animal control office and they will send professionals to assist.

Re: Laws on bait traps for cats

That is not true everywhere in Australia.
We have no such law where I live.
And there is no federal law to my knowledge.

And feral cats can be trapped.
