Re: Court date is coming up soon

Re: Civil damages after DV conviction

I'm thinking that a divorce decree is the equivalent of a judgment. Divorces generally address property and asset division, or no property and asset division. When it's final a new lawsuit would be...

Re: Proving bedbug bites for a claim or lawsuit

Another thing. For most people, bedbug bites resolve in a couple of weeks, just like mosquito bites. If that happens and you can prove the where, you might get a few bucks in "go-away" money.

Re: Proving bedbug bites for a claim or lawsuit

Prove it? Won't be easy. The hotel people will likely deny it. Unless you sustained a severe medical condition it won't be worth it to any lawyer to take the case because it won't be worth any money....

Re: Annulment time limits in Texas

The longer you wait, the less likely the judge will be to believe your allegations of cause.

There is plenty of information online about Texas annulment. All I had to do is run a search and...

Re: Agent commission on insurance policy sale

You can ask your agent. Maybe he'll tell you. It's not a big secret and you can probably google it and get information off the internet.

I'll give you a few basics.

Home and auto...

Re: Recourse?

Can you prove that? With evidence? Documentation? Witnesses? Did you ever report any overt religious discrimination to your employer?

If no to all those questions, your likely recourse is to...

Re: Delaying a trial because I am due to give birth?

You think raising an infant, lots of crying and sleepless nights, won't be stressful?

You can file a properly written motion for a continuance and see how it goes.

But I think you...

Re: Attorney's retainer is too high

SSW 66, the thread is over two and half years old. If you are going to participate watch the dates and don't resurrect old threads. Keep to current discussions.

Re: Options after appeal?

Depends on what level of appeal, why you lost, how much property is at stake, and how much more money you want to throw at the problem.

Your lawyer would be the best person to discuss that with.

Re: Invention laws

I would be very cautious and thoroughly investigate any company that advertises on TV that they can help you with your invention.

You would be better off hiring a patent attorney to see if...

Re: Unpaid Citi bank credit card

Citi Bank may no longer be in the picture. I'm guessing that Belkins is a collection agency, that the Citi account has been written off and the debt sold or assigned to Belkins. That means that...

Re: Life sentence on domestic violence charge?

Unless he really tore her up, he'll probably plea bargain it down to a little jail time, probation, counseling, etc.

Re: Life sentence on domestic violence charge?

Depends on the circumstances. Why do you ask? Did this really happen? DID somebody get a life sentence? Are you the attacker wondering if you can get a life sentence? Are you the victim, hoping that...

Why did they tell you that? What was your relationship with that person?

The consequences of any future contact depend on the answers to my two questions.

Re: 30 days notice

True. And I posted the statute for the OP on another site.

If the 30 day requirement WAS in the lease then it WAS adequately disclosed and the OP has no excuse for not reading it.

Re: Online seller refunded me but I still want to sue them!

Sure. Anybody can sue anybody for anything.

Oh, wait, you mean can you sue them successfully? No. You would lose. Nobody ever gets money for hassle and time spent.

You got your money...
