Default Interpol Green Notice

If Interpol has issued a Green Notice and the person in question crosses an international border (arrives by plane, international flight) I would assume that while being processed entering the country (going through immigration) the Green Notice would appear and alert immigration. NOW, would the person be detained and held because of a Green Notice? Would they be allowed to enter the country and their movements reported back to Interpol? Would they NOT be allowed to enter the country? The person would be entering an Interpol member country, but Not the country where the initial alledged crime was committed which resulted in the The Green Notice which was issued due to an outstanding arrest warrant pertaining to a rape, aggravated assult, and possible kidnapping charges case of an incident which occured over 6 years ago involving a person with no priors.

The border officers can make a decision how they wish; and it varies widely. they may deny or permit entry and often there seem to be differing rationales. Best not to travel if you are concerned about it--or seek a visa first.

Thank you for your response, BUT, you don't mention if the immigrations Officers have the option to detain and/or arrest the person in order to turn over the person to Interpol. Is this just Not a legal option for them?

Also, you mention being inssued a Visa, If one were to have a Visa issued, would one then be let in the country without issue?

And one last question. John Smith, an American citizen has a Green notice posted concerning him for a pending arrest warrant issued in the USA for an alledged crime committed in the USA. The same John Smith is a dual citizen (which may be common knowledge to the US authorities) and is travelling (6 years after the fact) using his Bolivian passport. The question: Would the Green Notice issued for a John Smith "American" citizen also Flag in the immigration computer system trigged by a John Smith "Bolivian" travelling with a Bolivian passport?

The visa would mean they have checked and approved you.

Detention still is possible with a green notice but normally only if a warrant or other similar event has also occurred or been issued.

If you have dual nationality can the original country detail you or arrest you if you have a green notice issued.

Exclamation Re: Interpol Green Notice

I was committed of a 'pornography offence' many years ago and have discovered that I am on the Interpol database. I do not know why but presume it is a green notice. I need to go to Europe and I am very scared about travelling. I was detained and questioned for many hours in Ukraine entering and exiting the country last year. It was very traumatic for me. What should I do? I am a European citizen and want to return to the EU. I have never had a criminal offence in the EU.

Perhaps get a visa before you go.
That may help uncover any possible problems (if any exist) that could occur BEFORE you go.

I am a EU citizen so I do not need a visa.

Was the case resolved or were you charged but never arrested or is the court case closed, etc?
If the case is over and closed, Europe will not cause you any issue if you have an EU passport.

I was charge with having porn back in 2004 (outside EU). I case was closed and a sentence was given and completed. I do not know why I am back on the Interpol notice again. Maybe new charges, maybe more evidence. I am afraid to travel back to the EU. I have never been sentenced with any crime in the EU. I no longer look at porn. If it was a red notice I would have been arrested by now. Please help me. I am afraid.
