Default Re: How can I drop charges? (Simple Assault, Harassment, Disorderly Conduct)

My girlfriend and I got in an argument after I refused to buy her weed from somebody because I wanted to take a break. When she kept yelling at me we escalated into just yelling and screaming at each other. I walked away, having had learned to step away when I become angry and punched a closet door which knocked it off the hinges and broke a hole in it, then she came out yelling and crying and I was saying sorry and and both still yelling but that we loved each other and then we went into the bedroom and sat down and talked about how we were upset and why, and working it out when the officers came and split us up when we were working it out and gave me a ticket and told me to appear in court and they told my girlfriend that they would give us a no contact order which we don't want. we are still talking to each other over the phone because they said I can't go back and we don't want to get in trouble. We really love each other and live together and have for a year and a half, this has never happened before. How can we fight these charges and stay together. we love each other and would never do this again. I am very sorry for yelling and hitting the wall, I dont ever do that and i am just really sorry aww god please tell me how to fix this

You have not indicated what you were ticketed for and why.

I was ticketed for malicious mischief 3 and they ticked the "DV" box. I punched a hole in a closet door in my apartment that I rent. I went to 10 days of anger management at the Seattle Childrens Hostpital when I was 10ish and they told me to step away from the source of anger and and yell into a pillow or punch it, but I had no pillow and hit the door. I had no malicious intent and was upset to the point where I didnt realize I had done it until I layed on the ground crying in frustration. I was not under any influence of drugs or alchohol at all.

You really need a lawyer or PD if this is WA. You can be jailed up to 364 days or get up to a $5k fine.

My bf is getting charges with domestic abuse and terroristic threats. The cops pressed charges for both when I told them I didn't want them to pressed. But the cop also said that I told them that my bf was gonna kill me. I did not state that he was gonna kill me. How do I help him get that dropped??

It is unlikely they will be dropped. Your testimony will only convict him. This is why you should always record testimony given to an officer.

I am finding it very difficult to get the prosecutor to drop charges I filed against a neighbor for damaging my car intentionally. It was all on video...BTW
The neighbor paid my repairs but the local prosecutors are still taking him to trial.

He did what he did. Nothing you can do about it. He'll have to make his own deal.
