Is it possible to file a class action against a local hospital?

They lure you in and then jack up the prices.

Everybody in town is talking about it. Something is not right.

The short answer is no. When you petition the court with your case you then ask them to certify it as a class action. You have to show that your lead named plaintiff and all other plaintiffs are equally situated as to the defendant.

Generally, hospital lawsuits are personal injury lawsuits that arise from injuries suffered by a patient. They are usually based on negligence or medical malpractice. Lawsuits may also involve hospital-wide policies that fall below state medical standards. Depending on the circumstances, hospital lawsuits can involve a large number of patients and can automatically turn into a class action lawsuit. Class action lawsuits allow hundreds or potentially thousands of individuals to join together and take legal action against a person or entity in instances when it would not be financially viable for them to file individual lawsuits.
