Default Filing multiple complaints

If I file a complaint against a business at the Federal Trade Commission, can I also file a same complaint at the State Attorney General's office?

What if they both start working on the same matter at the same time?
Or am I allowed to file just in one place?

You can file with both agencies at the same time.

No prohibition but if you know one agency is fully handling a matter then it is best to inform the other. Unfortunately many such complaints do not get handled as fully as one might hope. So filing in a few places is often an effective strategy.

Since Federal Trade Commission is an independent agency you can file a complaint with both Federal Trade Commission and State Attorney General’s office at the same time.

Excellent, so I have filed both and we will see which one responds first if at all.
Thanks for the help!
