Default Payment of court fee late by two weeks

I was ordered by the court to pay 460 dollars for a traffic violation.

The amount is coming due April 14.
I will not have that money until April 30.
If I pay by the 30th will it still be ok?

I wish to inform you that you may make an application in court seeking extension of time. In absence of court order if payment is not made till April 14, 2017 then court may take action for non payment. Court is at its discretion to take action for non payment of traffic ticket.

It doesn't really matter what state.
The answer is going to be the same in all jurisdictions.

What state law do you think makes a difference here?

No, that is not OK. You must obey the court order and pay on time or you must seek a request to the court to change the date. If you missed the day even by one day you could potential he be in contempt of court.

State courts operate differently and even courts within a state may operate differently when it comes to these matters.

State courts do not operate differently on this issue. That is a silly comment. You must pay by the due date or you must seek an extension from the court. Otherwise you will be in contempt of court.

Hardly.

You obviously have no contact with the legal system and courts. I see these issues on a weekly basis.

You may request your traffic violation hearing to be postponed and rescheduled to a different date. For the first postponement, the appropriate office must receive your request by mail at least 10 days before the date of the scheduled hearing. You may also make your postponement request in person at that office or by telephone at least one day before your hearing date. In most states, traffic court judges are allowed to lower fines and extend payment deadlines. So, if your finances are tight, it normally doesn’t hurt to communicate your situation to the judge. In some states, it’s also possible to request payment extensions by mail.

Your request for postponement must include a "good cause," which is the reason you want the hearing rescheduled. Your "good cause" is subject to approval by the Judge.
