I did not pay my insurance for 18 months but every month I received a notice that I am paid up.

Am I covered for an accident today?

That doesn't make sense. Could they be charging your credit card or automatically taking it out of your bank account?

Only one way to find out. Call your insurance company and report the accident.

And I spent 35 years in the insurance industry. Yes, lots of mistakes get made but we rarely know about them until somebody brings it to our attention.
