Default Pardon on a drug offense in NY state

Is it possible to get a pardon on a drug offense in NY state? 11 years old conviction
Is there realistically any chance?
Or is that a waste of time trying, if even possible?

I have a marijuana charge and conviction involving supposedly large amounts.

I wish to inform you that the Governor of New York has the power to grant clemency in the form of reprieves, commutations, and pardons. A pardon provides unique relief for individuals who have completed their sentences but remain disadvantaged by their criminal history. The Executive Clemency Bureau is a unit within the New York State Department of Corrections and Community Supervision that assists the Governor’s Office with clemency applications. The Executive Clemency Bureau receives applications and begins a review process, which includes compiling past criminal and/or correctional facility records. The Bureau then sends completed applications to the Governor’s Office for review. As an alternative to clemency, consider getting your record/conviction sealed. If you have no more than two misdemeanor convictions or one felony and one misdemeanor conviction, you may be eligible to have those convictions sealed after a 10-year waiting period. Additionally, some drug-related felony and misdemeanor convictions can be conditionally sealed if you have completed a drug treatment program. You may contact an attorney and seek guidance.

Write a letter to the Governor and ask for a pardon. Tell him what a good boy you've been since you were a drug dealer. Won't cost you anything but a 50 cent stamp.

The New York State Department of Corrections and Community Supervision advises the governor on clemency cases if requested. The Executive Clemency Bureau within the DOCCS screens candidates for eligibility requirements, gathers materials concerning clemency applications, and responds to letters from applicants and others regarding clemency applications. The NY Apply for Clemency website includes procedural and substantive standards for considering pardon.

Don't count on it.

Nothing you have said shows any usual or special circumstances.

You can try but it's not likely to be a winner.

Perhaps consult with your US Congressman if you can get an appointment and explain the situation and see if he/she may help.
