Default Arrested on incorrect restraining order

Washington

In 2012 I was arrested for violating a restraining order that was not for me. I served a few days in jail. In 2017 I am still feeling the affect of this situation. Am I able to receive compensation despite the statute of limitations of 2 years?

Probably not. But answer the following questions.

NOW you're asking after 6 years?

You really need to speak with an attorney.

I have a feeling that you'll be the typical post and don't return type.

Not an easy case to prove and win unless there was some extreme misbehavior or negligence involved. And yes probably too late at this point.

You could always meet with a civil rights or criminal law attorney to get an opinion after reviewing ALL details.

In this type cases normally the limitation period is one year. But limitation period only bars your remedy, it is not a bar to your right. So it is good to consult a lawyer with all necessary documents and information to pursue the case.

So you have been paying for psychological counseling and have a diagnosis this caused it all these years? Fact is, you should have corrected the issue before sitting in jail. Why did you not posses ID?
