I don't think the person should be able to get away with this kind of behavior but I am not sure the police will actually ticket him or investigate if they did not see it themselves.

They may feel they have bigger fish to fry.

Well, it's your fault for not reporting the accident at the time it occurred.

You are enabling "this kind of behavior".

If you don't get them right at the moment it is hard to get the police to act frankly.
That has been my experience, in these traffic type issues.

Reporting a violator

I just tried doing this very thing and the police would not act,
They said it had to be done at the time. Oh well.

Can I file a civil suit against a person that ran a stop sign and forced me to veer off the road and into the grass.
The police didn't see it so they aren't gonna do anything.

First of all your issue is different so instead of hijacking someone else's thread you should have started your own.

You drove onto the grass? So what were your damages and how did you get the other person's information?

I want to create (and I am creating) an app that easily allows you to film the traffic violation and send it to the police.

Any problems with that?

People speed on my street CONSTANTLY!

If you are in an HOA, get the HOA to install speed bumps. If not in an HOA, maybe you can get the city to do it. I see speed bumps in neighborhoods all over the place. They must be getting them done somehow.

Yes, first of all you hijacked someone else's thread that's been dead for about 2 and a half YEARS. If you have a legal question START YOUR OWN THREAD.

Secondly, you can't prove speeding by a video. You're pretty clueless. The app will be a waste of time.
