Default Porch theft video

I also have an issue with porch theft of my Amazon package. Like a few others here I see.
Can I force the neighbor to give me his RING video recordings which apparently do cover my front yard as well.

He doesn't want to get involved, he says.

I wish to inform you that you may request your neighbor but you my not compel your neighbor to give video to you. However if your neighbor cctv covers your house then law enforcement agencies may compel your neighbor to give video of his cctv to them. Law enforcement agencies like police have power to obtain cctv video in order to know the accused.

Force? No.
Ask? Yes.
If the answer is no, report the theft to the police and tell the police that your neighbor may have video of the theft.

If nothing comes of that, install your own cameras.

You'd be wrong. Amazon delivered in a place provided by the recipient. Amazon is no more liable than the bank that gets scammed by a check forger.

It's the criminal who is liable.

Give a complaint to the Local police department and inform them about the CCTV camera of your neighbour which covers your porch (front yard) also. Police have the power to check the CCTV camera of your neighbour to find out the wrongdoer. It’s been standard practice for law enforcement to ask homes and businesses for footage in the event of a nearby crime. Police are bound to local and federal laws restricting how they may collect evidence and investigate crimes. Private citizens monitoring their own property aren’t subject to the same restrictions. Offering up privately obtained footage helps police to legally circumvent governmental regulations that are in place to protect human rights.

I think he's right. The police can eventually get the video if needed in the investigation of a crime.

Saw it happen in my own neighborhood a few months ago.
