Default Why aren't edible marijuana products considered dangerous drugs

Why aren't edible candy marijuana products considered dangerous drugs by law?

It seems the overdose rate is rising and children can easily mistake those items for cake and candy??

I wish to inform you that in certain states marijuana has been legalized and further medical marijuana is allowed. In these states edible marijuana products are more commonly used. State legislature may pass necessary laws restricting its use or consumption once it determines such a law will serve desired purpose.

What a compelling legal argument you make.

Brownies are among the most common food products infused with marijuana, however, almost any food product may be infused with marijuana and eaten.
In addition to placing marijuana directly in food, marijuana-infused cooking oil can be used when frying or searing food, and marijuana-infused butter can be spread directly on prepared food.

These marijuana edibles are more common in states that have legalized marijuana and also states that permit medical marijuana use.
Even in states where marijuana is legal, the lack of edible-specific regulations has caused public safety concerns. State officials in Colorado are now scrambling to create regulations regarding dosages of THC in the products, while more marijuana business owners are encouraging new users to “start low, go slow.”

In states where marijuana is legal, major restrictions have been placed on the sale, dosage and distribution of marijuana. It only makes sense that the same stipulations are now made for edibles in order to avoid more unnecessary health scares and potential tragedies.
