Default Is my expunged domestic violence matter available to employer?

Is my expunged domestic violence matter (involving my wife) available in any way to my employer in Illinois? They are trying to find it I learned.

The whole thing was ten years ago.

How do you know what they're doing? How do they even know about it?

See your other post where the question was answered.

Bottom line it is not easy for the employer to see expunged information, but you can't rule it out 100% (notwithstanding that expunction is supposed to make it go away forever)

In today's internet world nothing really ever goes away forever, absolutely.

If they have not found it yet, they likely will not.

Of course they can just send somebody to talk to her.
And she can tell them or show them anything she wants.

In Illinois, employers may consider prior convictions when making employment decisions. However, use of arrest information or sealed or expunged convictions is prohibited. As long as a firm gets permission from the subject who is being checked, said firm can obtain criminal background checks from either a private firm or the IL state police.
