I received an inquiry to donate to a nonprofit in India.
I like the mission but is such a donation tax exempt under US laws if the entity is in India and not in the US? I am a US citizen and I would really strongly prefer the tax deduction if I make the contribution. Thank you for any info you may have! |

I wish to inform you that you may not receive tax benefit for contribution made to foreign non profit. In this generally foreign non profit may not be registered with IRS and hence tax deduction benefit may not be availed.
