Facebook's selling of my personal messages and court damages

Do I have any automatic damages from the Facebook data use and breach issues?

Or must I prove some specific thing?
Is it enough that they took my personal messages and gave it --I should say sold it--to Google and microsoft and others?

I never agreed to my personal messages being sold I am sure of that.
I wold not have done so if I knew.

I wish to inform you that you may file a lawsuit seeking compensation if Facebook has violated terms of service. You may seek compensation for violation of privacy and breach of agreement. You may have the burden to prove your allegations.

This has nothing whatsoever to do with personal injury or workman's comp.

Hmm not so clear to me...

Personal injury is a legal term for an injury to the body, mind or emotions, as opposed to an injury to property. In Anglo-American jurisdictions the term is most commonly used to refer to a type of tort lawsuit in which the person bringing the suit, or "plaintiff," has suffered harm to his or her body or mind.

In this regard you should first notice facebook regarding the breach and let them know that you are about to file a case against them for damages. If they are not responding to your notice you can file a case against them.

Isn't it odd that Facebook is now ASKING to be regulated?
That really seems weird to me.

I believe they want to get out in front of the regulation issues. It is clear they are going to get some regulation so why not embrace it, it's good PR.

The inevitable has happened as the US gov now sues them.
Just a matter how much FB has to pay - IMO.
