Now we just need to figure out a way to pay a doctor under the table to make a determination sounding plausible, so he can grant you the privilege instead of enduring life-long suffering.

It's a very delicate area that makes me a little uneasy to be honest, but the Swiss seem to have learned a lot and handle the issue well.

Where to draw the line is the difficult part.

Sometimes we can learn from others too.

"Many hospitals have not yet released policies for dealing with the law. And no doctor, health system or pharmacy will be required to comply with a patient’s request. Doctors who object to the practice are not even required to refer patients who request the medication to another physician."

You must make the request 3 times, at least 15 days apart, in front of witnesses. Two doctors must agree. You must of course be terminal.

Frankly I'd stick with DIY.

Nothing in this area of law is easy!
See headline from today below.

A group of doctors are going to court to try to knock down a new California law that allows terminally ill adults with less than six months to live to get a doctor’s prescription for a lethal dose of “aid-in-dying” drugs

I agree with DIY. The ones objecting are likely the specialists who make a small fortune dragging out the last year of many peoples lives, which proportionally have proven to be the greatest portion of their income.
