This profession is not easy as people thinks about it. From start studying to the court it is a hard way to cross. You have to work hard and you must be a good observer of every aspect of your client's case. It is also an rewarding career if you have capabilities you can do well in this profession.

Can a citizen of another country attend law school in the US and then sit for the bar exam as well?

Or must you be a US citizen to do both?

Hey non-US citizen can become a lawyer in the US but here she must pass the bar exam and must have lawful residency in the state with the bar exam was passed--Often usually you must go to law school as well. A few states will let you take the bar exam even without law school.

Not a great market for lawyers now in the US unless you have really top grades and schools involved.

Can you still become a lawyer in California without actually going to law school?

Or has that changed? I see what seems to be conflicting info??

Yes California at a minimum allows it.

There is some further discussion on this forum, search around.

But it still is not easy, you must pass the Bar Exam and you must spend time in training.

In the end law school just might be easier. But if you are a real whiz kid the opportunity is there.
