Value of an amputated foot in a civil lawsuit

How does the law determine what the value of an amputated foot or leg may be after a medical malpractice accident?

(The case involves my stepson but is in its very early stages.)

Like any other personal injury/malpractice case, a jury will determine an amount based on a variety of factors (maybe dozens) depending on the situation.

Until a jury decides on an award, it's a matter of negotiation.

If you are looking for a dollar amount or dollar range, can't help you.

Try googling "jury awards for loss of limb."

It depends on some factors like as your age, your line of work, and your activity level. In this case you should engage an expert lawyer to make the defendant accountable to the fullest extent possible.
