Default Salesman offered me (verbally) to waive my mileage charge

COLORADO

I was leasing a car with a dealership. In the lease I had to stay within a number of miles. Towards the end of the lease I realized I was over the amount of miles and was going to buy out my lease because I knew I would owe on the car if turned in. When I went to buy out my lease, the salesman offered me (verbally) to waive my mileage charge if I lease a brand new vehicle with them. I decided it was probably a better idea to turn in my car and lease a new vehicle.
I then received a bill for $4,300, the charges in which he said he would waive. Can I take action against verbal promises?

Sure. If you have evidence that the verbal promise was made. Do you?

Lesson learned: Car dealers are liars and thieves. Get everything in writing or it isn't happening.

Agree with the above 100%.

It has to be in writing with these car people especially.

It won't be easy PROVING you heard exactly what he said and it was a binding agreement.

But that doesn't mean you can't try!!

Haul him in to small claims court if you want!! He might even settle.
