Default Limits on the number of small claims cases

Are there any court rules or limits on the number of small claims cases I can file in New York City?

For example can I file 12 cases in one year?

There is no limit.

If you like bringing frivolous lawsuits it will eventually catch up to you and you'll pay a price for it.

I see no legitimate reason for having to file so many lawsuits.

If you have to file 12 cases in a year there is something seriously wrong with your life.

Is there a limit on how many commercial small claims can be filed?

Yes. You cannot file more than 5 claims statewide per calendar month.
